FOOD TENDERING – FRIDAY, 2 NOV 2007 !

We will be opening tenders to both undergraduates and postgraduates; members and non-members of the society who would like set up stalls to sell delicious food to the large number of Malaysian students who will be crowding the university for this event. The form will be available on the NMS download section on Friday 2 Nov 2007.

The food stalls will be located at the Portland Ballroom. Do not miss this opportunity to showcase your culinary talents with an almost 100% profit guarantee!!

Allocation of food stalls will be on a first come first serve basis with priority given to the Nottingham Malaysian students.

The deadline to submit the form is on 14 Nov 2007.

Q: What time does the game start?

A: Regarding the timing, we are expecting to start all games at 9.00 am. It would be great if you can arrive here in Nottingham at 8.30 am the latest especially the 5-a-side football and netball as these two games will be played outside the University campus and require some time to arrange the transportation to the respective venue plus registration for your contingent. However, we will try our best to arrange the fixture of the games in such a way that teams from London and others that are far from Nottingham will be playing a bit later on that day.

All games are expected to be finished by 7 pm - 8 pm together with the prize giving ceremony. In addition, we are still waiting confirmation from the MSD about the dinner which will be held right after the games finished. If so, the dinner I would say might end at 10.30 pm -11 pm.

Q: Do you provide accommodation?

A: No, we do not provide accommodation for the participants. However, you could check out bed and breakfasts around the University if you wish to stay here. All arrangements are to be made by your society and we will only assist you wherever we are able to.

Q: We may be arriving late. What should we do?

A: If you are traveling from a university that is quite far from Nottingham please inform the committee what time you are expected to arrive. We may be able to schedule the matches for your society to start later compared to the rest. However you are required to register when you arrive normally. The latest we would expect your ream/university to arrive is 9.30 am. For whatever reason you can’t make it by that time do let us know and we may be able to help you out. We reserve the right to disqualify or forfeit your opening match if you are late.

Q:Can we make payment by cash during the games?

A: Registration fees need to be paid prior to the games on the dateline stated unless special circumstances have been granted by the treasurer or the director. We do not accept any cash payments on the day itself.

Q:What about transport to the various venues and to the University?

A: Transport from your university to the University of Nottingham is to be arranged by your society/team yourselves. The Nottingham Malaysian Games committee will not be responsible for any absentee’s or forfeits due to lateness. You are required to arrive by 9 am the latest as most of the sports will start around that time. The map and directions to the university will be posted on the website and will be emailed to you after you register. If you are traveling by flight the nearest airport is East Midlands Airport. From there you can take the bus Rainbow 5 that goes straight to the university.

Within the university, transport will be provided to and from the various venues around the university. For bus schedules within the university during the games please check our website at a later date.

Q: Can we send 2 teams or more for football or any other sport?

A: Each university/society/club is only allowed to send maximum of 2 teams as stated in the rules and regulations, which the 2nd team is subject to availability in the fixture. The reason for this limit is firstly, we want to encourage participation from other universities as well and secondly, we want to be fair in terms of awarding the overall champion.

If you are still interested to send 3 teams, I suggest you send 3 registration forms separately, indicating the 3 universities your society is representing on each form. By doing so, your participation can be confirmed upon payment provided you meet the deadline for registration. However, if one of the teams wins, the point for overall champion will be added to that particular university only, not the society. Alternatively, you can send 2 teams under the name of your society and the other team with different name (e.g. Eight Kings, Seven Kings…etc) but again, the 2nd team participation is yet to be confirmed by 21st Nov.

The bottom line is that every university is allowed to send maximum of 2 teams for football, and if you want to send more than that, you then have to send a separate registration form under a different name. (Just a reminder taken from the rules and regulations that teams are not allowed to send just one team for the games as this is not a tournament for a particular sport but an inter university/society games. I.E if you send a football team you must send a team/player for another sport.)

Hence, please send the registration forms as soon as possible to avoid any disappointment in future.

RULES & REGULATIONS

1) Although the maximum numbers of teams are stated in the Registration Forms, the Nottingham Malaysian Games 2007 committee reserves the right to take out the 2^nd team due to limitations of our sports facilities.

2) You are still required to make payment for your 2^nd team by the dateline stated. However, if we do take your team out, we will refund you.

3) We will let you know by the 21^st of November 2007 of your 2^nd team participation.

4) Teams are not allowed to send just one team for the games as this is not a tournament for a particular sport but a inter university/society games. I.E if you send a football team you must send a team/player for another sport.

5) All REGISTRATION FORMS must be E-MAILED to nottsgames07@yahoo.com by the 12^th of November 2007 and dateline for PAYMENT is 16^th November 2007.
